4-(1-Oxo-1H-isochromen-3-yl)benzenesulfonamides and their effect on cancer cell growth

Some sulfonamide derivatives of 3-phenyl-1H-isochromen-1-one were synthetized by interaction of 4-(1-oxo-1H-isochromen-3-yl)benzenesulfonyl chloride with amines. The features of starting compound (3-phenyl-1H-isochromen-1-one) sulfochlorination have been clarified; the synthetic procedure for 4-(1-oxo-1H-isochromen-3-yl)benzenesulfonyl chloride and its by-product (disulfochloride) was optimized. The primary evaluation of obtained sulfonamides anticancer activity showed no appreciable cytotoxicity.
